Bosch is again setting new standards in the garden. Until now, using manual secateurs to perform maintenance work on trees, bushes, hedges, shrubs, herbaceous perennials or climbing plants required a lot of force: approximately 200 newtons per cut, which equates to about 100 times 200 newtons per gardening enthusiast in one season. This means that the 150 million gardening enthusiasts in Europe use three trillion newtons of force, which corresponds to 300 billion kilograms in terms of weight. But no more, because Bosch is launching the Ciso on the market, the world's first secateur with integrated lithium-ion battery.
The Ciso cuts through branches or twigs up to a diameter of 14 millimeters smoothly and cleanly at the push of a button. Its secret is the innovative "Power Blade System". This unique cutting system, with its planetary gear and the special lever mechanism, provides high cutting power to the cutting edge made of high-quality carbon steel. Moreover, the Ciso is a real endurance athlete. One battery charge is enough to perform over 500 cuts on average in branches or twigs with a diameter of nine millimeters. The innovative trigger system on the secateur enables quick work: one cut per second. First, the gardener simply moves the trigger switch from the parked position to the working position and the tool is ready for use.
For maximum safety, the cutting system comprises a static guiding blade without sharp edges and a moving blade positioned further back. A safety switch also prevents unintentional operation. If after years of use the blade needs to be replaced, all you have to do is undo a screw.
The integrated 3.6V lithium-ion battery with 1.3 Ah allows the cordless secateur to be very compact and weigh only 590 grams as lithium-ion batteries are smaller and lighter than comparable nickel batteries. The gardening enthusiast can easily reach even hidden twigs with the Ciso. The ergonomic handle makes the Ciso comfortable to use.
Handling the battery of the secateur is as easy as on a cellphone. This is because it has all the advantages of the lithium-ion technology: in addition to high energy density, it has hardly any self-discharge and does not have memory effect. So the cordless secateur is always ready for use, even if it has not been used for lengthy periods of time, and it can be charged in any state without damaging the battery.
